A short life update

 I just read my Scatterbrained post from a year and and I laughed.  Well, at least one person thinks I'm funny!  Me!  Anyway, it warrants an update.

So, I'm still at Geographic Solutions.  Somehow, I have become a leader in AI utilization at the company.  I can't really say too much more than that, but it's consuming and fascinating at the same time.

I did start a Bible Study!  Last year I ran 10 Bible Study sessions for the parish at my house.  You can follow along at https://bible.boundbrook.com/ (which of course Claude AI wrote for me).  As an aside, I also re-launched www.boundbrook.com (which Claude also wrote for me).  This is actually what got me thinking.  I mean, Claude had the whole site up and running in an evening, and it cost me a $20/month subscription.  That would have taken me a month to write by myself.  My friends, do not underestimate AI.  Again, I can't tell you the details, but AI has turned my work job upside-down, too.  If you are a developer, you basically have no choice.  Either you learn to use AI in your job, or you will be out of a job within 3 years.  You either learn to manage the AI prompts, or your job will be gone.

Okay, no more gloom and doom.  So, the Bible Study has been great for me, because it has challenged me to study the Bible again, and pray more about it.  And, right now, I'm re-reading The Cost of Discipleship and being challenged to re-think my pathetic approach to walking with God.  I love Dietrich Bonhoeffer.  He's intense.  Although, I struggle with parts of the book, which is probably a good thing.  Oh, yeah, I said no more gloom and doom.  And here I am on the edge of gloom and doom again.  Yeah, like, repent or else.  He basically says that.  Old school fire and brimstone preacher.  Bonhoeffer's Cost of Discipleship has an amazing analysis of Matthew's Sermon on the Mount, which is what we were just finishing up in the Bible Study.  So, I am thinking of maybe presenting some of his views in the Bible Study in the context of Matthew 6 and 7 which is where we will be picking up soon.

So, yeah, some things stay the same.  Still programming at work.  Still wrestling with God.  Hope someone enjoyed this little catch up!
