June 2011 Update

About 2 weeks ago, my latest contract through Robert Half Technology ended.  I've been ramping up for the next gig.  Watched a bunch of tekpub.com videos, honing my C# 4.0 skills, learning about Ninject (an IoC solution), Nuget, NHibernate, Specflow, Entity Framework, and going deeper into MVC.

I have to say, there are some consulting companies that are quite excellent and earn their referral fees with sweat equity.  Robert Half Technology and TEK Systems are two such companies which have impressed me greatly.

Also, upgraded my smart phone to the Nexus S 4G with Google.  It has full integration with Google Voice, which I really like.  And the phone itself is sleek.

I'm now halfway done reading Design Patterns: Elements of Reusable Object-Oriented Software. The last job was quite a personal milestone for me.  I am definitely reinventing my coding style and am grateful that I read Clean Code which, along with the other book, has really improved the readability of the code that I write.

I've been playing around trying to re-write the old Microsoft Membership provider to have a more readable codebase and build off Entity Framework, instead of all those SPROCs.  We'll see if I get anywhere before I'm working full time somewhere hopefully soon.
